There are several ways to redirect a domain name to another domain or subdomain and one of them is by creating a CNAME record. When you own a domain and you have developed a site using some online service which supplies you with a service subdomain, you could easily link the two by creating a CNAME record for your-domain.com that redirects to subdomain.provider.com. What you are going to achieve as a result is that www.your-domain.com will be in the Internet browser address bar while it opens the already mentioned site from the servers of the third-party provider. It is very important to know that if you set up a CNAME record, any other records your domain name may have will stop functioning, so you cannot have both a CNAME record directing to one provider and functioning email addresses with a different one. The CNAME record is always an alpha string, not a number, and sometimes more configuration may be necessary with the other company.
CNAME Records in Shared Hosting
You can easily set up CNAME records if you have a shared hosting from our company. We'll supply you with an easy-to-use Control Panel which allows you to observe all DNS records for the domain names and subdomains that are hosted within the account. Setting up a CNAME record requires several simple steps - select the domain/subdomain, select CNAME as the type, enter the hostname you are redirecting to, and then simply click on the Save button. The process is as basic as that and the new record is going to be active almost immediately. This way, you will have more control over your domain names and subdomains and over the content they open, you'll be able to create a private URL for company e-mails, and a lot more. If you feel unsure about how to create a new record or you have never done such a task, we have a short video tutorial in which you can see the whole process first-hand. If you decide to modify or delete an existing CNAME record created for a domain/subdomain hosted on our end, it'll take you literally simply a mouse click to make it happen.

The plans are managed through our in-house built Hepsia hosting CP in which you will find a section dedicated to the DNS records of the domain names and subdomains hosted in the account. To set up a CNAME record, you will only have to choose the record type and the hostname (domain or subdomain), enter where the latter will be redirected to and save the modification. The new record is going to be active almost immediately in our system and will propagate worldwide within a few hours. Modifying or deleting an existing CNAME record within the account is just as simple and easy and takes a click.
